Chaos to Calm

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions. When I want to make a change, I do it. No matter what the date.
But this year I've been on a mission. Since the first days of '09 I've been clearing the clutter. I'm not sure why I'm suddenly so motivated, but I'm not questioning it. It's something I've been thinking about doing for a long time.
The trouble is when I start cleaning I make a big mess, as you can see in the first photo.
But I have made some progress.

If only my whole house would look this neat and tidy! I'm still working on it.

I'm with you! For some reason I woke up on Jan 2nd, looked around my house and though - this has to change.

I threw out about ten bin bags worth of stuff, took three trips to salvation army - and finally my house looks nice.

Yay for cleaning out!

The title of this post says it all! I don't like to de-clutter but I sure like the results!

I've been doing this since the fall when I realized why I'm so happy at our vacation place. There's no stuff around. It's a messy job but so worth it.

Look like you need some boxes - lol. Good luck on the cleaning - one thing I always put off to another day!

We did the same thing. I packed up and filled bags and my hubby took them to Goodwill. I still have the office/sewing room to tackle but let's not be too hasty?:)
