I think your blog is lovely. You have already instituted many of the tips I would have given.

-You include great pictures (what's a blog without pics?)

- Blog about different topics (recipes are great!)

Make sure to blog frequently, as it will encourage regular readers to check back often. :)

Thanks, Lauren.

Thanks for visiting my blog Maryeb :-)
I also like your blog, I enjoy reading blogs that cover a variety of subjects , though for some reason, knitters tend to blog more frequently than many crafty bloggers. I like your use of photos, I find it hard to read blogs without photos, but I am a very visual person :-) Your layout is easy to read and the colours are harmonious.

will you ship overseas?
I like the blog, I find it eye friendly, easy to see the words. (I have colorblind friends)

Thanks, for the feedback.

Yes, riohnna. I highly recommend you buy insurance though. Please read my etsy shop policies.

I found you from Ravelry. Your blog looks great, really.

I like how you offer specials for your Etsy store and that you have a wide variety of topics.

As for the contest... the only thing I would recommend is a cut off date...

I really liked that tank top you knitted, I'd like to try that pattern.

Nice blog, I'll be back.

maryeb said...

Oops, Aunt Kathy, I forgot to add the cut-off date.
Thanks for reminding me!!!!!

great... I am adding your contest to my sidebar

Lovely blog! Great knitting and food and jewelry ...with great pictures.
I love the tank you kitted too-looks great on you.

I second what has been said before about what you do well - varied content and pictures! Perfect =D

Things I would recommend changing, if you can:

* make the type just a little bigger so it's easier to read
* see if you can switch templates - I'm not a big fan of the distacting background dots
* can you increase the size of your Colorless Green Ideas banner

Mary, you've got a nice, friendly tone to your blog. Since you are a knitter, maybe you'll want to think about including some tips for those of us who aren't quite as able! :-) (Judy of JN Originals)

Blog looks great. Your stumble button isn't working, was going to add it.
I've added your blog to A Blog for etsy Blogs. Thank you for visiting Etsy Spotlight On.

Am so thrilled as you are the first person to comment on my blog--I've only been up and running as a blogger for two months. I love your blog! Great ideas and its so good to read other creative peoples' tales. Baby steps for me thoug, and only just learning not to double post my postings. Thanks for letting me know that someone has read it...I've been working on my new website and will post it on Ravelry soon to let you and others know its0' alive.'

I really like the large letters. If a blog is too hard to read I just skip it. Your pictures are nice too.

Your knitting is lovely, as is your entire blog. The thing that really grabbed my attention, though, was the food photos! Yum. It made me hungry just to look at them.

Now, if I can just avoid posting this multiple times, I'll be happy. :-}

first off... thanks for your recent visit to my blog; and thank you also for the compliment on my woven amulet!

i am not sure that i have anything constructive to add to the comments already posted.

i really enjoy the pics... you have a great eye for color and composition.

and i like that it is a blog of you... not just etsy or knitting or cooking... but a view of you as an individual!

i have enjoyed reading through your blog and will visit again!

Your blog covers a wide range of topics and that's what makes it a good read just like an on-line magazine.

Your recipe entries are interesting & mouth-watering by the way the delectable dishes look in the photos posted.

Of course my favourite are the jewelry entries. I love looking at the beautiful designed pieces & drool. I love getting tips too.

Keep on blogging. Cheers.

I love the way you tell us about the inspiration for your (very, very beautiful) jewelry, the photography, and the lovely, uncluttered look of the blog, overall.

I think your blog is great!
Love the really clear pictures.
Although I'm guilty of blog neglect myself, I love to read other folks when they post regularly, at least once per week.

Great blog. For me, picture are always a huge draw. (I'm buying a camera this weekend so that I can have a decent blog!) I love seeing finished objects with info on the pattern and yarn used. And just fun tidbits about life in general are cool- favorite books or tv shows might introduce me to new favorites! I like the recipe links etc.
Good job!

i have to agree with many of the suggestions. i love the look of your blog as is, i personally am drawn towards photos to catch my attention but then also love a little variety of the topic. I love the knitting but basic life as well as a good recipe every now and then is wonderful as well!

I really enjoy your blog, just shy sometimes to make comments. I love that picture of your ribbon embroidery. That is something that I have always wanted to try....Dawn

Your embroidery on the crazy patches is stunning! I love your projects. I'd use more color in your background though.

Your blog is great! I like the different topics and your jewelry is beautiful. My only constructive feedback is to make the pictures bigger - I love seeing details in the jewelry and knitting without having to click on the photo. Otherwise, great job!

Tally Knits said...

Like many have already said, I really like your blog and your use of pictures (they really make it interesting, allow readers to really get what you're talking about, and are sure to bring people back). I also love how you talk about a lot of things, not just knitting. I'm nosy and like to read about everything in a person's life!

Please write often and post updates. I'm a believer that one can never really blog too much or add too many pictures.

Love your etsy shop!Such pretties.
Hope you sell everything you make.

I just wanted to say your blog and Etsy shop are great. And... I think I have just 1 suggestion: your blog title gets lost among the green dots, so you might want to make it stick out a little, or even get a header graphic (if you need help, I could make you one). :)

Sharon Rose said...

I like your pics (clear and colorful) and the variety of topics you cover. BTW: Did you know you can make s'mores in your living room with a can of sterno? It burns without fumes, so it's safe inside!

maryeb said...

No, Sharon, I didn't know you could make s'mores using sterno.
I never would have thought of that!!!
Thanks for the tip:)

It's so great to have all of your comments. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

I "stumbled" upon your blog from Aunt Kathy's Place. It's really very lovely--great pictures, great recipes.

Love those earrings--they are just exquisite!!

It's a very user friendly blog so keep it up! Pictures are very crisp.

I found your blog really readable and I love all the variety. I'm also a lover of many crafts including knitting, beading, crochet, quilting. I'm also always on the lookout for good recipes. Thanks for the contest! Debbie

I love the pictures and I like that the font is large and easy to read. The background is attractive.

The recipes are a plus.

You know what, I really like the pale colors of the background dots! They're different without being distracting.

Katie O said...

I like the background... it's easy to look at and doesn't make it hard to read what you have wrote. Great job on the etsy goods... they are also beautiful.
